• Trim trees and bushes to ensure they are not too close to your roof and exterior walls.

• Remove debris from gutters regularly. 

• Keep firewood stored away from your home's perimeter.

• Eliminate standing water in your yard.

Inside: 

• Ensure weather stripping around doors and windows are in good working order. 

• Ensure doors and windows remain closed as often as possible.

• Store open sources of food in sealed containers, dog food is a frequently overlooked pest buffet.

• Fix plumbing leaks and water damage.
